## Rehearse the conversation you keep postponing.

The 1:1, the performance talk, the skip-level political mess, you don’t need a script generator. You need to know what you’re actually afraid of saying.

The 1:1 you keep moving isn’t a scheduling problem. It’s that you’ve rehearsed four versions of the sentence and none of them sound like you. Type it out at your desk before the meeting, or dictate it on the walk over, Claro follows the shift from “how do I phrase this” to the real thing underneath: “I’m afraid they’ll think I’m unfair,” or “I don’t think the feedback actually matters to them.” Interrupt it the moment it starts sounding like a leadership podcast.

This isn’t HR, and it isn’t a PIP generator dressed up as a thinking tool, it won’t draft the write-up or hand you a framework. What it does is notice the pattern underneath the rehearsal: a tendency to over-prepare for conflict that rarely arrives the way you braced for it. Claro names that when it recurs, so the fortieth hard conversation gets easier the way experience should make it easier, not because you found a better script.

## Bring the unfinished version

Management problems often arrive disguised as wording problems.

### Feedback you keep softening

Find the useful truth and the fear that makes you bury it under too much context.

### Two people in conflict

Separate what you know, what you inferred, and what only they can resolve with each other.

### A decision the team may dislike

Get clear on the tradeoff before explaining it, so transparency does not become over-justification.

### The person you cannot rescue

Notice when support has turned into carrying responsibility that belongs to someone else.

## Modalities for Managers

- **Text:** Type out the exact phrasing for the hard conversation before you walk into the room, so you’re working from your own words instead of a script.
- **Dictation:** Dictate right after a 1:1 that went sideways, while the specific sentence that stung is still fresh enough to name precisely.
- **Voice call:** Call Claro on the walk between your desk and the meeting room when you need five minutes to hear what you’re actually afraid of saying.

## Memory example

- **Life threads:** The skip-level tension, the performance conversation you keep rescheduling, these hold as threads so the next session doesn’t start with re-explaining the org chart.
- **Patterns:** Claro may notice a pattern of over-preparing for conflict that rarely arrives the way you rehearsed it, a noticing, not a critique of your management style.

### Clarity Card example

- **Title:** The feedback wasn’t the hard part.
- **Insight:** You weren’t unsure what to say. You were afraid of being seen as unfair by someone whose respect you want.
- **Open question:** What changes if their opinion of you isn’t the thing at stake?
- **Themes:** Leadership, Fairness, Fear
