## Think through the company without performing for the room.

Early teams drown in confidence theater. Claro is where you sort the actual question, runway, co-founder tension, “should we even be doing this”, before you turn it into a slide.

Startups live in unfinished situations: a raise that might happen, a hire you’re afraid to make, a product bet you can’t unsay. Those are life threads, not Slack threads. Talk them through in text at 1am, or on a walk as speech-to-speech. Interrupt when the answer gets too clean.

Claro will not be your co-founder. It will not hype the vision. It notices when “we need to move faster” is covering fear of choosing. A Clarity Card after a hard session beats another motivational thread in the founder group chat.

## Bring the unfinished version

The useful conversation usually starts before the strategy is tidy enough to share.

### A bet no one owns

The team agrees on the language, but not on the risk. Work out which assumption you are actually asking everyone to make.

### A co-founder knot

Separate the product disagreement from the trust question underneath it before the next conversation hardens both.

### Runway pressure

Say the frightening version of the numbers out loud, then decide what the constraint changes and what it does not.

### The hire you keep delaying

Explore whether you need more capacity, a different capability, or permission to stop doing something.

## Modalities for Startups

- **Text:** Type it out at 1am when the runway math won’t stop looping, writing it down slows the spiral to a pace you can actually think at.
- **Dictation:** Dictate on the walk to your car right after a hard conversation with a co-founder, before you’ve had time to compose the “acceptable” version of what you feel.
- **Voice call:** Call Claro between back-to-back investor meetings when you need five minutes to remember what you actually believe about the business, not just what you just pitched.

## Memory example

- **Life threads:** A raise that might happen, a hire you’re afraid to make, a product bet you can’t unsay, Claro holds these as open threads across sessions, so the Tuesday call about the hire picks up exactly where Friday’s left off.
- **Patterns:** Over enough sessions, Claro may notice you reach for “we need to move faster” whenever a decision actually requires slowing down, surfaced as a noticing, never a verdict.

### Clarity Card example

- **Title:** Speed wasn’t the problem.
- **Insight:** You weren’t behind on execution. You were avoiding a decision about who gets to stay on the team.
- **Open question:** What would you decide if speed weren’t the excuse available to you?
- **Themes:** Leadership, Avoidance, Team
